Have Fun Sending Beach Theme Wedding Invitations!

So you are having your wedding on the beach or at least you are going to do a beach theme wedding. Why not have some added fun by sending beach wedding theme invitations out to your guests? Just for a beach wedding theme, there are lots of styles available. Your wedding invitations’ beach theme will bring the sound of the surf to mind when invited guests look at their invitation, and that is just what you want!

Seashells and Palm Trees on Wedding Invitations

Sea shells and palm trees are great motifs for your beach wedding invitations. With these on the invite, the bride & groom can announce their upcoming wedding at any seaside resort or their beach themed wedding in a Michigan hotel ballroom, for example.

A number of online companies plus your local stationers should have many styles with a beachy theme from which you can choose your invitations. Pick a style that has a personal rightness to it. The invitation you select may set the theme for many of your remaining wedding purchases such as wedding favors, table centerpieces, aisle decorations and backdrops. Of course, you can always mix and match within the beach theme!

The card stock for your invitation can be almost any color. Here are some possible ones: ivory, white, silver, blue, lavender, turquoise, aqua, yellow, sea green, gold or navy. If you choose lighter colors, you will want a darker ink color. If your card is dark, select a lighter ink color.

Customization of Your Beach Themed Invitations

Once you pick the style and basic color of your beach themed invitations, you are ready to customize them for your wedding!

If the parents are announcing the wedding, as is traditional, then the wording will start something like “We are honored to have you at the wedding of our children”. If the bride and groom are announcing the wedding, they will have words like “together with our families” or “we invite you to share in our celebration of love”. Often these words can be changed to your personal announcement. Then come the bride’s full name (including middle name), the groom’s full name (including middle name), the date, time and the location of the wedding. The date and time will be more formal than usual like “the seventh day of October Two Thousand and Twelve at eleven o’clock in the afternoon”.

Next, you will choose a font that keeps with the formality or informality of your wedding and works with the beach theme. And some invitations may offer customization with a photo or with your initials.

Extras to Go with Your Invitations for a Beach Wedding

Usually you can order just the invitations with the envelopes. But how do your guests let you know if they are able to attend? For this you need to get respond cards. These will come with envelopes. They will follow the style of the beach invitations and have words like “<number> persons would love to attend” and “we regret that we can not attend” along with space for the guests to put their names and the date by which the card must be sent. Reception cards, which have more details about the wedding reception location, will also have a matching style to the invitation. Informal Cards or Thank You Cards may be postcards with a design like the invitation, which may have your general message printed on the front with room for a personal note from the bride and groom. These are to be sent after the wedding!

Who to Invite with Your Beach Wedding Invitations?

The most difficult part of the process is deciding who to invite to the wedding. But addressing and sending out your beach wedding invitations will bring you a lot of joy.
