Styling Hair for Your Wedding Day

No matter how a woman styles her hair on normal occasions, she can affect an entirely different hair style on her wedding day. She can go full length if her hair is naturally short. She can coiff her hair in a french updo when she normally wears braids.

Let's consider possibilities for styling her hair for this very special day.

How a bride wears her hair has a lot to do with her personal preferences and whether she naturally has short, medium or long hair, straight or curly hair, etc.

Even so, your hair can be shortened or lengthened (with time or extensions), curled or straightened; done in an up-do or not. However, your hairstyle is also largely cast by other factors such as whether you will have a formal evening wedding or a casual midday affair; a theme wedding or a traditional ethnic or religious wedding.

Since the above factors generally dictate the type of bridal gown you will wear, your hair style, veil and/or other adornments, such as a tiara, must naturally complement the dress. But, even with your dress chosen, you may still choose to show more hair and less tulle or keep much of your hair covered by a rich and flowing veil. And, some brides like to remove the veil after the ceremony while some will wear her veil throughout the entire reception. This is quite a personal decision.

Ethnic or Theme Ideas for Beautiful Hair

If you are having a Medieval or Renaissance wedding, you may have your hair left straight or braided with flower accents. If you want to have your hair coiffed like a princess, select a beautiful rhinestone tiara with or without a veil. If you are having a traditional Italian church wedding, then you may likely have a floor length veil and your hair well covered. If on the other hand you want to have a Spanish or Latin American look, then you may choose a mantilla veil with exquisite lace edging.
