Fair tresses man’s imperial race ensnare, And beauty draws us with a single hair – Robert Pollok
What is a Wedding Hair Updo?
An up-do is just what it sounds like. A wedding hair updo, also called wedding upstyles, is a style where the bride’s hair is moved from the sides of her face and back of the head, and fastened above with decorative pins, combs, tiaras or clips.
While an updo hairstyle is easier to achieve with long or medium hair, if you have short hair, you can still have an up-do. First, you may be able to grow out your hair by the wedding day or you can have extensions “woven” into your natural hair in such a way that they look like your own hair.
How to Achieve Your Wedding Hair Updo
The style can start with a high pony tail that is curled into a chignon (A chignon is a type of updo where a large, smooth twist, roll, or knot of hair is placed at the top, back of the head).
Or, You can have your hair curled into large soft curls, sweep it up to be held by a rhinestone comb and let one or 2 curls casually fall to one side of your face. Use bobby pins and a soft hair spray, to tack the locks in place as these will be hidden. Yet, choose a hair ornament on the finished up-do style, that will be seen, such that it complements your veil and tiara if these items are part of your overall look.
Accent Your Wedding Hair Updo with Flowers
For a more casual look, adorn your hair with floral accents, provided by your florist, that complement the rest of your look. These flowers can coordinate with your bouquet or ceremony aisle flowers.
