Ideas for Wedding Reception Decorations

031

How shall we Decorate our Wedding Reception?

In addition to your personal tastes and wedding theme, how you decorate for your reception will have a lot to do with where your reception is held. Are there specific rules and regulations regarding wedding reception decor? Do you have a strict time limit? Will you have a florist? Do you have a budget? is this an outdoor wedding?

For example, your use of flowers can add style and elegance or help create a theme. You can have your florist not only create the bouquets and boutonnieres for the bride, groom and attendants, but provide aisle flowers, flower petals for the aisle, table centerpieces, a floral cascade for your cake, and accents for the buffet and cake tables plus other floral accents such as palm trees for that luau decor. You or your florist may also be able to swag fabric on ceilings, posts or reception tables to create a backdrop.
You can still add low cost, simple touches with selective wedding favors and neat reception table accents or centerpieces such as sea shells, stones, acrylic ice, and other small decor items scattered on the guest and serving tables. (But, be watchful if you will have small children at the reception). Consider having disposable wedding cameras on the tables, for your guests to use, for those moments of your wedding that only they can catch.

If your venue allows it, then tapered candles or votives will be very nice, especially for a more formal evening affair. Candles at the reception guest tables or serving tables can also carry the theme from you unity candle ceremony to your reception meal.
