Wedding Reception Backdrops Using Lighting

There are so many options to use lighting, often in combination with fabric, to create a unique wedding reception backdrop that makes your wedding decor pop!

Here are just a few ideas:

1) Drape sheer fabric on the wall behind the wedding reception head table. Place canned lighting on the floor behind the fabric such that the lights shine towards the ceiling and offer hints of light through the fabric. You can select both fabric and lighting in accent colors to complement your wedding theme, as well as the table decorations and florals.

2) Again, used draped sheer fabric behind the head table or other focal point of your reception room. Another focal point, for example, may be the cake table holding a beautiful tiered wedding cake. Then arrange twinkle lights, hanging from the ceiling in a pretty pattern, in front of the backdrop fabric.

3) If you have columns, then consider wrapping rope lighting around the columns in from top to bottom spiraling around the columns. The rope lighting may be chosen so that it is colored to match or complement the rest of the reception decor. Note that columns can be part of a garden wedding backdrop as well as used to accent an indoor reception.

Note that for an outdoor wedding, you may be able to wrap the rope lighting around living trees.

4) Thread small light strings through a garden lattice screen for another unique effect.
